Eastpointe police are not releasing any information about an early-morning robbery at Kelly’s Pharmacy that was reported by WWJ-950 radio Thursday morning.

Eastpointe police confirmed that there was a robbery but said no other information would be immediately released.

According to the WWJ-Radio report, it appears thieves ripped the roll-up pharmacy door off its hinges to access the building which is located on Eight Mile Road east of Kelly Road. The door was thrown to the side of the pharmacy entrance and it appeared a motor vehicle was used to pull the door off of the building, according to the WWJ report.

It is not known what was stolen and by the time police arrived on the scene at approximately 6 a.m., the robber or robbers had fled.

Construction workers were still working to repair the door late Thursday afternoon.

Police said their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
